RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. is an Indian public sector enterprise which provides broadband and VPN services. RailTel was formed in September 2000 with the objective of creating a nationwide broadband, telecom and multimedia network to enable modern train control operations and safety systems for the Indian Railways.
RailTel requires a scalable storage solution to accommodate its rapidly growing customer base, with the need to store and manage hundreds of virtual machines. RailTel uses XS5326 to efficiently store virtual machines, ensuring smooth operations and faster access. The setup includes a Data Center and a Disaster Recovery site, with a replica copy for backup and recovery at the Disaster Recovery location. The solution provides 2 petabytes of storage across two sites, part of which is stored on flash drives for faster virtual machine performance. The system supports multiple protocols and asynchronous replication keeps data consistent between the Data Center and Disaster Recovery site.
